  I contacted Muskoka Party Rentals for glassware for a conference taking place this weekend. Yes, this was a last minute request as this is a very busy event weekend. Alex at first did an excellent job of sourcing what I needed, quoted me $0.40 per unit, and the arrangement was for my client to pick up the glasses tomorrow and return them a week later. When I received the contract however it stated $0.60 per unit. I called Alex and he said the $0.40 per unit rate was for 3 days and $0.60 per unit is the rate for the week we needed. I reminded him he was aware we needed them for the week when he quoted me $0.40 just 10 minutes earlier over the phone. He agreed to the $0.40 per unit rate, again verbally. Less than an hour later I called back as I had not received the revised contract, and was told his boss called my client directly and told them they no longer have the glasses available. What went wrong?!? 1) Don't quote one rate and send a contract at a higher rate 10 minutes later without an explanation. 2) Don't say you'll honour the original quote and then not honour it by changing your story and saying you no longer have the inventory. 3) Don't deal with me from the beginning of the transaction, and then call my client directly who I have been hired to source these items, and then not even call or email me to let me know what is going on. I will never work with this vendor again. No integrity at management level.
